Liv & Mike's Classic Tunbridge Wells Wedding

There’s something pretty special about a classic British wedding, and Liv and Mike’s wedding in Tunbridge Wells had all the ingredients you could hope for — a beautiful church, smart tails, a proper pub, lots of family and friends, and a fantastic reception at the Royal Wells Hotel.

The day had that timeless British feel to it, but still felt completely personal to Liv and Mike.

A Pint Before the Ceremony

Before the ceremony, Mike and his groomsmen headed to the pub around the green opposite the church for a pint together.

It was the perfect way to start the day. While the girls were getting ready and the final preparations were happening, the boys were keeping things relaxed with a drink, a few laughs and, presumably, a little bit of nervous excitement.

Dressed in their tails, they certainly looked the part — although I'm sure the pint helped take the edge off before the ceremony!

A Beautiful Church Ceremony

From the pub, it was just a short walk across to the church for the ceremony.

Liv and Mike's wedding had that lovely traditional feel, with the church providing a beautiful setting for them to officially become husband and wife. Surrounded by their family and friends, it was a really special part of the day.

After the ceremony, there was plenty of time for hugs, congratulations and catching up with everyone before we made our way to the reception.

Celebrating at the Royal Wells Hotel

The reception was held at the Royal Wells Hotel in Tunbridge Wells, which was a brilliant setting for the rest of the celebrations.

With everyone together, the atmosphere quickly became relaxed and lively. There were drinks, plenty of conversation, lots of laughter and all those little moments that make weddings so enjoyable to photograph.

I love weddings where you can move between the big moments and the smaller ones — a quick laugh between friends, grandparents chatting to family, drinks being raised and people simply enjoying being together.

Liv and Mike's day had plenty of those moments.

A Classic British Wedding

There was something wonderfully traditional about the whole day, from the church ceremony and tails to the pre-wedding pint and the reception at the Royal Wells Hotel.

But despite all those classic elements, it never felt overly formal. It was relaxed, fun and full of personality — exactly how a wedding should be.

It was a real pleasure to be there to capture Liv and Mike's day, from those quiet moments before the ceremony right through to the celebrations with everyone at the hotel.
